Symptoms
Assume that you upgrade from Microsoft SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2017 on windows. When you run a query that contains HASHBYTES function in SQL Server 2017, you may notice that the server performance will become slow when compared to SQL Server 2016.
Resolution
This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
