KB3014164 - FIX: Cannot use new service tiers Basic, Standard and Premium when you deploy to Windows Azure SQL Database in SSMS 2014

Applies To
SQL Server 2014 Developer - duplicate (do not use) SQL Server 2014 Enterprise - duplicate (do not use) SQL Server 2014 Standard - duplicate (do not use)

Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Studio (SSMS 2014) to deploy database to Windows Azure SQL Database. You can only select the obsolete service tiers of Azure SQL Database, Web and Business, with a maximum database size of 150 gigabytes (GB). There is no option to select the new service tiers, Basic, Standard and Premium, with a maximum database size of 250 GB.

Cause

This issue occurs because SSMS 2014 is not updated to match the current service tier offerings.
