FIX: DRDA Service crashes when unauthorized TCP/IP client tries to connect to the server

Applies To
Host Integration Server 2016

Symptoms

The Microsoft Service for DRDA (DRDA Service) crashes when an unauthorized TCP/IP client tries to connect to the server.

Cause

The DRDA Service allows blocking of incoming clients by providing a list of clients that are allowed to connect. This is done by listing allowed clients in the ClientIpAddressesAllowed property in the MsDrdaService.exe.config file. The DRDA Service crashes when a request from a TCP/IP client that is not listed in the ClientIpAddressesAllowed property tries to connect to the server.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Cumulative Update 2 for Host Integration Server 2016.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
