Introduction
This article lists the new enhancements and bug fixes that come with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2022 UR4 release. This article also provides the installation instructions for this update.
There are two updates available for Virtual Machine Manager - one for the Virtual Machine Manager server and one for the Administrator Console.

Issues that are fixed
- Unable to assign IP address to Ubuntu 24.04 VM deployed from SCVMM using VM template
- SCVMM Console Crash when selecting VM properties for Trunk Mode enabled VMs
- SCVMM 2022 Console crashes with a NullReferenceException when selecting "Virtual Switches" in host properties if the UplinkPortProfileSet is missing
- SCVMM Console crashes with NullReferenceException in VirtualSanHbaRowViewModel when viewing properties of host with Fiber Channel HBA where FibrePort is null
- SCVMM Virtual Machine Viewer: Smart card authentication fails on Windows Server 2025 due to missing RedirectSmartCards setting
- Error 20017 when a tenant administrator adds a new network adapter to an existing VM
- Remove possibility to open "Select Users, Computers or Groups" window for a domain if the selected role has no permissions to change it
- VMM Connector with SCOM creates incorrect objects for VirtualManagerDB and its database engine in the SCOM database

Update packages for Virtual Machine Manager are available from Microsoft Update or by manual download.
Microsoft Update
To obtain and install an update package from Microsoft Update, follow these steps on a computer that has a Virtual Machine Manager component installed:
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.
- In the Windows Update window, click Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.
- Click Important updates are available.
- Select the update rollup package and then click Ok.
- Click Install updates to install the update package

Installation instructions
To manually install the update packages, run the following command from an elevated command prompt:
msiexec.exe /update <packagename>
For example, to install the System Center 2022 UR4 package for Virtual Machine Manager Server (KB 5098585), run the following command:
msiexec.exe /update kb5098585_vmmserver_amd64.msp
