Symptoms
When a backup is performed of Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2 virtual machines (VMs) that are hosted on a Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019 device, Hyper-V integration services (also known as integration components) does not send a message that states that the backup is completed.
To verify this is the issue that you are experiencing, check the transaction log such as for Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, or third-party application transaction log for the "Waiting for completion" message.
Cause
This issue occurs because some applications that run in a VM may not truncate their transaction log after a successful backup.

This update is offered as an Optional update on Windows Update.

You do not have to restart the device if no VMs are running.
