Find and add people you know in Microsoft Teams (free)
Find and add people you know in Microsoft Teams for Windows 11. If you have an Android phone, you can easily add your contacts by linking your Android to Teams.
Not sure which version of Teams you're using? If you see Chat in Windows 11 from your taskbar, then you're not on the latest version of Microsoft Teams (free) and Windows 11. Learn more about how to update Teams and Windows and get started with the mini Teams window.
Make it easier to access the mini Teams window when you pin Teams to your taskbar.
To find a contact in Teams

Select the mini Teams window from the Windows 11 taskbar.

Enter the name of the contact you are looking for in Search.
If you can't find the contact you're looking for by entering their name in Search:

Select the Chat

In the To: field, enter the contact’s name, email, or phone number.

If the contact you are looking for is not already using Teams, they’ll receive your message via email or SMS along with an invitation to join Teams.
To invite a contact to Teams

Select the mini Teams window from the Windows 11 taskbar.

Select the button
-
From the Chat tab, select the Invite to Teams button.

In the Invite to Microsoft Teams window, copy the link and send it to your contact by email or the method of your choice.
To find a contact in Teams

Select Chat from the Windows 11 taskbar.

Enter the name of the contact you are looking for in Search.
If you can't find the contact you're looking for by entering their name in Search:

Select the Chat

To invite a contact to Teams

Select Chat from the Windows 11 taskbar.

Select Open Microsoft Teams.

From the Chat tab, select the Invite to Teams button.

In the Invite to Microsoft Teams window, copy the link and send it to your contact by email or the method of your choice.
