Dragon Medical One dictation and microphone best practices
Dragon Medical One's accuracy is good, but follow these dictation best practices for the best recognition.
It is important to speak clearly and naturally as if you were speaking to someone in person. For best results, speak in complete thoughts or sentences and dictate with punctuation.
-
Position your cursor where you want your text to be typed, then begin dictating (Note: it's helpful to think that your text will go where your cursor is blinking).
-
Point the mic toward your mouth and speak directly into the microphone.
-
Pause briefly after turning on the microphone to avoid clipping your dictation. Begin dictating when the microphone icon on the DragonBar is green.
-
Pause briefly before and after saying a command so Dragon Medical One knows that you are not dictating text.
-
Wait until you have finished speaking before turning the microphone off. This helps avoid clipping as well.
-
Turn off your microphone when you are finished dictating so Dragon Medical One does not capture extraneous dictation.
