KB2989512 - FIX: MDX query returns no result when the cache is not cleared after you run a previous query in OLAP or tabular model

Symptoms

Assume that you run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query in online analytical processing (OLAP) or tabular model in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014). If the cache is not cleared after you run the previous query, the MDX query returns no result.

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Workaround

To work around this issue, clear the cache before you execute each query.
