  1. Sign in to your Microsoft account, as if you were a child
    Sign in

  2. Select Learn more about parent/guardian consent at the bottom of the information prompt.

  3. On the next screen, click Update account information .

  4. If prompted, enter your name and click Update .

  5. Next, you will see the screen to update your date of birth.

Tips:

  • If a parent/guardian removes consent and the child account is removed from a Family Group the child account should automatically prompt for consent the next time you sign in.

  • If that does not happen, click below to sign in and repeat the consent request.

How to change a birth date on a child's Microsoft account

  1. Using the adult Microsoft account that gave consent to the account, sign in to Manage child accounts.

  2. Select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

Notes:

  • Parents need to be at least 18 years old, except in Canada where they need to be at least 19 years old.
