Hide a chat, remove chat history or leave a chat thread in Microsoft Teams
Keep your chat list organized and focused by hiding chats, removing chat history or leaving chat threads in Teams. You can hide and remove chat history from a one-on-one chat or leave group and meeting chats. Leaving a chat removes it from your chat list, and you can no longer send messages in this chat.Edit or delete a sent message in Teams.
To delete individual messages from a chat thread, seeTo hide one-on-one chats:

In your list of chats and channels, go to the one-on-one chat you want to change.

Select More options
> Hide to no longer see the chat.
To remove chat history in one-on-one chats:

In your list of chats and channels, go to the one-on-one chat you want to remove.

Select More options
> Remove chat history to remove the chat from your list.
Note: When you remove chat history, it only applies to you. The other participant will still see the chat. You also can no longer access the chat, including through search. Hidden chats can be recovered by searching for them.
To leave a group or meeting chat:

Go to the chat you want to change and select More options
> Leave . -
Select the check box to confirm that you want to remove chat history from your chat and search lists when you leave. Select Leave.
If you're a meeting owner, you can't delete or leave the meeting chat. However, if you're a participant in the meeting chat, you can delete or leave it.

From the Chat tab, go to the chat and press and hold it.

Confirm that you want to remove chat history from your list when you leave. For a one-on-one chat, tap Delete. For a group chat, tap Leave.

Confirm your choice by selecting Delete or Leave.
When you leave a conversation, the chat history stays, but you can't send messages in this chat.
