Microsoft Copilot Studio is a tool that helps you create, customize, and manage AI powered agents, workflows, and tools. You can use Copilot Studio to build agents that automate tasks, connect to data and services, and support business processes across Microsoft and external apps. 

Use Microsoft Copilot Studio with your keyboard and a screen reader to explore and navigate the app. You’ll learn how to open Copilot Studio, move through the homepage, navigate between areas such as Agents, Flows, and Tools, and explore available settings and options.

Open and sign in to Copilot Studio

You can access Copilot Studio at any time using a web browser and navigate it with a keyboard and screen reader. 

  1. Open a web browser and go to copilotstudio.microsoft.com.

  2. Sign in with your work or school account. After you sign in, the Copilot Studio homepage opens.

  3. Use Tab or Shift+Tab to move through interactive elements on the page.

Explore the navigation landmark

Use the navigation landmark to move between main areas of Copilot Studio. The navigation landmark contains the following tab items: 

  • Home

  • Agents

  • Flows

  • Tools

  • Explore, Power Platform, and Learn more about AI integration

Note: By default, the focus is on the Home tab when you open Microsoft Copilot Studio.

To explore the navigation landmark: 

  1. Press Tab until you hear “Home tab item.”

  2. Use the Down arrow key to move through the tab items, such as AgentsFlowsTools, and more.

  3. When you hear the desired tab, press Enter to select it. The selected tab opens in the main content area.

View and create agents

The Agents tab lets you view your existing agents, create new agents, install managed agents, and explore agent templates. 

  1. To open the Agents tab, press Tab until you hear “Home tab item.”

  2. Use the Down arrow key until you hear “Agent tab item,” and then press Enter to open the Agents tab.

My agents

The My agents section shows a list of agents you have access to. As you move through this section, you hear a table with columns such as, Name, Type, Last modified, Last published, Owner, and Protection status. 

To navigate the agents list, press Tab until you reach the table, use the Up or Down arrow key to move through the rows, and then press Enter when you hear the desired agent. 

Create a new agent

Use this option to create a new agent from scratch and define its behavior, knowledge, and capabilities. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “Create blank agent button,” and then press Enter to open the new agent creation page.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the agent creation process.

Import an agent

Use this option to import an existing agent configuration that was previously exported or shared. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “Import agent button,” and then press Enter to open the import agent experience.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the import process.

Search agents

Use this option to find agents by name in the agents list. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “Search agents edit field,” type the name of the agent you want to find, and then press Tab to move through the search results.

  • When you hear the desired agent, press Enter to continue.

Install a managed agent

The Install a managed agent section allows you to add prebuilt managed agents. As you move through this section, you may hear managed agent options such as:

  • Catalog Enrichment (Preview)

  • Citizen Services (Preview)

  • Document Processor (Preview)

  • Employee Self-Service (Preview)

  • Employee Self-Service HR

  • Employee Self-Service IT

  • Finance in M365 Copilot

  • Personalized Shopping (Preview)

  • Product Change Management (Preview)

  • Sales Order (Preview)

  • Store Operations (Preview)

  • Variance Analysis (Preview)

To install a managed agent: 

  • Press Tab until you hear the desired managed agent, and then press Enter to select it.

Start with an agent template

The Start with an agent template section provides templates to help you quickly create agents. As you move through this section, you hear templates such as: 

  • Website Q&A

  • Safe Travels

  • Financial Insights

  • Benefits

  • Citizen Services

  • IT Helpdesk

  • Sustainability Insights

  • Weather

To use a template:

  • Press Tab until you hear the desired template, and then press Enter to start creating an agent using that template.

Filter and search agent templates

You can filter and search agent templates. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “Filter button,” and then press Enter to filter templates.

  • Press Tab until you hear “Search templates edit field,” type a keyword, and then press the Down arrow key to move through the results.

View and create flows

The Flows tab lets you view existing agent flows and create new flows for automations. 

  1. To Open the Flows tab, press Tab until you hear “Home tab item.”

  2. Use the Down arrow key until you hear “Flows tab item,” and then press Enter to open. The Agent flows page opens, and focus moves to the main content area.

Start building an agent flow

At the top of the Flows page, there is a section where you can describe what you want the flow to do. 

Press Tab until you hear “What would you like your flow to do,” then type what you want your flow to do, and then press Enter to continue.

Create a new agent flow

You can create a new agent flow from the Flows page. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “New agent flow button,” and then press Enter to open the new agent flow creation page.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the new agent flow creation process.

View and create tools

The Tools tab lets you create tools that your agents can use to perform actions or connect to external services. 

  • Press Tab until you hear “Home tab item,” use the Down arrow key until you hear “Tools tab item,” and then press Enter to open the Tools tab.

Create a new tool

On the Tools page, you can create a new tool. 

  1. Press Tab until you hear “New tool button,” and then press Enter.​​​​ The New tool pop up window displays available tool types. As you move through the pop-up window, you hear options such as:

    • Prompt

    • Agent flow

    • Computer use

    • Custom connector

    • REST API

    • Model Context Protocol

  2. To select a tool type, press Tab until you hear the tool type you want, and then press Enter.

  3. To close the new tool pop up window, press Tab until you hear “Close button,” and then press Enter. The pop-up window closes, and the focus returns to the Tools tab.

Open and update settings

You can use the Settings page to view and update Copilot Studio preferences. 

  1. Press Tab until you hear “Settings button,” and then press Enter. The Settings pane opens.

  2. Press Tab to move through available settings options. As you move, you hear items such as:

    • General settings

    • Session details

    • Power Platform admin center

    • See what’s new

    • Themes

    • Change your language

    • Change your password

    • Update contact preferences

  3. When you hear the desired setting to update, press Enter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  4. After updating a setting, press Tab until you hear “Close button,” and then press Enter to close the Settings pane.
