If the previous steps didn't work, try changing the selective suspend setting:

  • In the Search box, type Control Panel and select Control Panel in the search results.

  • Select Hardware and Sound > Power Options.

  • For the power plan that is selected, click Change plan settings.

  • Select Change advanced power settings.

  • Expand USB settings. Then expand USB selective suspend settings.

  • Click the links for both On battery and Plugged in, and set both dropdowns to Disabled.

  • Select Apply and OK.

  • On the taskbar, select Start > Power > Sleep. Once Windows goes to sleep, wake Windows and check whether the problem with the USB device is resolved.
