2. Verify your identity. For your protection, Microsoft must verify your identity before you can proceed with resetting your password. Choose how you want to receive a verification code.

Email addresses and phone numbers associated with your Microsoft account are called aliases and they use the same contacts, online storage, subscriptions, and account settings.

Notes: If you have existing lists of safe names and addresses, you can move that information into Outlook. Click Import from File and browse for the list file that you want. To create a file that uses your current list, click Export to File and then specify where you want the new file saved.. To change a name on the list, click the name that you want to change and then click Edit.

Note If the price for your Xbox subscription has changed, it may be because the subscription renewed after a trial or promotional rate to the full rate. You should be notified ahead of time if the full rate for a subscription changes for your region.

Tips: While signing in, select Yes at the "Stay signed in?" prompt if you want to go straight to your mailbox next time (not recommended for shared computers). Alternatively, check the "Don't show this again" box and select No to be prompted for your password each time.. Next to the password you want to change, select More actions , and then select Edit.

Note: If you receive a prompt asking whether to allow the app to access your camera (iOS) or to allow the app to take pictures and record video (Android). select Allow so the authenticator app can access your camera to take a picture of the QR code in the next step.If you don't allow the camera, you can still set up the authenticator app as described in Manually add an account to the app.

If you forgot your PIN and need to reset it, you can do so from the Windows sign-in screen. Look below the PIN text box: If you see I forgot my PIN , select it and follow the instructions to reset your PIN.If there are multiple accounts on the device, choose the one you need to reset.
