There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

Check which version of DirectX is installed. The DxDiag tool reports detailed information about the DirectX components and drivers installed on your system and can be used.

A support person might ask for this info, or you might post it in a forum when you ask for help. In Windows, select Start and enter dxdiag into the search box on the taskbar.

To get the latest version of DirectX for your version of Windows, use Windows Update. If you have Windows 10, then you already have the latest version of DirectX installed. Not all versions of Windows can run the latest versions of DirectX.
