Restore account credentials from Microsoft Authenticator You can restore or recover your account credentials saved by Microsoft Authenticator. Note: You can only backup and restore on the same device type. For example, accounts backed up using an iOS device cannot be restored on an Android device.

If this is the first time you're setting up Authenticator, you might receive a prompt asking whether to allow the app to access your camera (iOS) or to allow the app to take pictures and record video (Android). Using Authenticator as a way to sign in If you have turned on passwordless, two-step, or multi-factor authentication for your account, use the following steps to sign-in: Go to the site where you want to sign in. Enter your username at the sign-in prompt and select Next. Select Send notification.
