Autofill on Microsoft Authenticator was discontinued in mid-August 2025 as part of Microsoft's efforts to streamline autofill.
Although your saved passwords and addresses are no longer accessible in Authenticator, you can still use , view and manage saved passwords easily across devices in Microsoft Edge.
When did the Authenticator autofill changes happen?

What has happened to saved data in Authenticator?

Passwords and Addresses: These are securely synced to your Microsoft account and remain accessible via Microsoft Edge. Generated password history was not retained.

Payment Information: For security reasons, payment info stored in Authenticator has been deleted and is no longer accessible.
Are saved passkeys still in Microsoft Authenticator?
Yes. Microsoft Authenticator continues to support Entra passkeys.
Important: If you’ve set up passkeys for your work or school account, ensure that Authenticator remains enabled as your passkey provider in iOS/Android settings. Disabling Authenticator as a passkey provider will also disable your passkeys.
How can I use Microsoft Edge to autofill?
To use autofill with Microsoft Edge, you will need to follow the steps below to enable Edge as your autofill provider.

Go to phone Settings and select General.

Under the "Autofill from" section, select Edge as your password manager.

If you have set up Passkeys for your work or school account in Authenticator, ensure you enable the Authenticator toggle under Device Settings > Autofill > Additional Services to continue using your passkeys. Disabling Authenticator will disable your passkeys.

For security reasons, payment information is only saved on the device it was created on, and is not synced to Edge or any other app. After July 2025, any payment information stored in Authenticator will be deleted from your device. You will need to manually recreate any payment information you have stored in Authenticator.
