Filter websites and searches in Microsoft Edge
Establishing internet boundaries is an important way to protect yourself and your family from inappropriate web content. Microsoft Family Safety web and search filters work across any Windows, Xbox and mobile devices that have the Microsoft Edge browser and Family Safety apps installed. To enjoy web and search filters, family members must use the Microsoft Edge browser while signed into their Microsoft accounts .
To set up web and search filters, follow the steps below.

Visit family.microsoft.com. Sign into your Family Safety account.

Select your family member then go to Content Filters.

Turn on Filter Inappropriate Websites toggle.

To block specific sites, add their URLs under Blocked Sites.

Grant access to specific sites by turning on Only use allowed websites toggle. Add URLs of approved websites under Allowed sites.

Open the Microsoft Family Safety app.

Tap your family member’s name > Content filters.

Tap Web and search.

Turn on Filter inappropriate websites toggle.

Always allow educational websites
You can now allow educational websites for your family members on devices with Microsoft Edge. These are websites that may be needed for remote learning, completing homework or for after school enhancement. They can always visit an AI-generated list of educational websites that they may need for school.
If there are educational websites that you don’t want Kasper to see, you can add websites to their Blocked sites list. If there are educational websites that we did not detect, you can add websites to Kasper’s Allowed sites list.

Default settings
By default, mature websites will be blocked and searches will be filtered in the Bing search engine. You can also view a family member's Bing search results through activity reporting.
Note: Family Safety web and search filters only work with Microsoft Edge. Turning on Filter inappropriate websites will block all other browsers.
