  • Secure ad-free email: Enjoy an ad-free experience in Outlook.com and Outlook for mobile for your email, calendars, to-do lists, and contacts, and get built-in security tools that help keep your information protected. (Security features apply to @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com email addresses.)

  • Secure photo and file storage: Save your photos and files in OneDrive and access your files across devices. Protect what’s most important with two-step identity verification in your Personal Vault folder. (OneDrive files can be recovered for up to 30 days after malicious attacks, file corruption, or accidental deletions and edits.)

  • Always up to date: With a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription, you will always have the latest updates to your OneDrive and Outlook web and mobile experiences.

  • Microsoft support: Microsoft 365 offers technical support to help with Microsoft 365 apps and Windows 11 when you need it.

We wanted to make premium subscription benefits available to even more people at a great price. With this, the OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan became Microsoft 365 Basic on January 30, 2023. The OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan is no longer available for purchase. All existing OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan subscribers were transitioned to the Microsoft 365 Basic plan with no action required.

OneDrive isn’t going anywhere—it’s still the best place to store your files, photos, and videos, allowing you to access them from any device, anywhere. With your Microsoft 365 Basic plan, you get 100 GB of cloud storage to use with OneDrive, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 apps.

Starting January 30, 2023, your OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan became Microsoft 365 Basic, giving you access to new benefits such as ad-free, secure email with Outlook, advanced file and photo protection, and access to support experts. No action is required by you as a result of this change. There are no changes to the cost of your plan.

Yes, the OneDrive 100 GB Standalone plan was replaced by Microsoft 365 Basic globally starting January 30, 2023. OneDrive 100 GB Standalone customers were transitioned to the Microsoft 365 Basic plan on January 30, 2023, with no action required.

Cloud storage with your Microsoft account is shared across your files and photos in OneDrive, attachments in Outlook.com and your Microsoft 365 apps. Your Outlook.com email storage is separate from your Microsoft cloud storage. To increase your storage quotas, you can buy Microsoft 365 Basic or another Microsoft 365 subscription.
