My username and password have stopped working

If you can't sign in with a correct password

If your username or password have stopped working, you may need recover your account:

  1. Select Recover your account below and type in the email address, phone number or Skype name you use to sign in.

    Tips: 

    • Ensure you are trying to sign in using the correct email address domain. Microsoft offers different country domains for Hotmail, Outlook and Live accounts, such as .com and .co.uk

    • Check you have typed the email name correctly, for example rachel or rachael

    • If your email wasn't recognized, and you have another email alias or phone number on the account, use that instead.

  2. We'll ask where you'd like to get your security code. Select Next.

  3. Type the requested information and select Send code.

  4. Type the security code into Verify your identity, then select Next.

  5. Type in your New password. Then confirm it by typing it again into the Re-enter password field.

If you are still unable to sign in, you can contact support by selecting the button below, and tell the support advocate that your username has stopped working.
