When will Bing Pros be discontinued?

When is the last day I can access my Bing Pros inbox?
September 3, 2024, will be the last day to access your Bing Pros inbox. Make sure to copy any relevant information you might need before this date.
What will happen to the conversations I started with service providers on Bing Pros?
You will lose access to your inbox on September 4, 2024, and all conversations will be deleted. You're free to continue working with any service providers you have connected with on Bing Pros outside the platform. Save any relevant information you might need before losing account access.
Do I have to sign up for a Microsoft Account to use Bing Pros?
Yes, you must have a Microsoft Account (MSA) to use the Bing Pros platform or create one to join. Create account or sign in.
How does it work?
Browse Business Profiles: You can visit the Bing Pros platform and browse through profiles of different service providers. These profiles include information about the type of services they offer, their expertise, experience, customer reviews, and possibly even photos of their previous work.
Message Businesses: If you find a service provider that seems suitable for your needs, you can initiate communication by sending them a message.
Book the Project: Once you and a service provider have discussed and agreed upon the project details, you can proceed to book the project directly with the chosen service provider. This might involve confirming the project's scope, setting a date and time for the work, and agreeing on the terms of the service.
Completion and Reviews: After the project is completed, you can provide reviews and feedback about the service provider's performance. This information can be valuable for other users who are considering hiring the same service provider in the future.
How long do I need to wait for a reply?
Typically, service providers should reply within 1 – 2 business days.
What happens if no service provider replies to my request?
You can choose to send your request to multiple service providers. If your initial service provider doesn’t respond, and you have chosen to send it to other providers, we’ll send the request out to comparable service providers to help get you what you are looking for.
What do I do if I want to stop communicating with a service provider?
You have the option to cancel the request within your account.
How do I delete a review that I left for a service provider?
Please send an email to bingpros-support@bing.com to request assistance with deleting a review.
How do I report a conversation?
From your Inbox tab you can use the drop-down menu located in the upper right-hand corner of the page to report a conversation as SPAM, report a conversation in general, or close the conversation.
How do I report a concern with a provider?
There are two options available to you. From the bottom right-hand corner of your page there is a feedback feature button. Or from the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of your page there is a report a concern button. You can submit your concern from the feedback feature or the report a concern feature.
Do all Bing Pros providers have a background check?
The business owner must undergo a background check if their business provides in-person services; however, not all employees are subject to this requirement. For online services, background checks are optional, not mandatory.

Will new leads still be able to contact me during this time?
Effective immediately (as of August 6, 2024), new leads will no longer be able to contact you on Bing Pros. You're free to wrap up any conversations with existing clients.
What will happen to the leads that contacted me on Bing Pros in the past?
You're free to continue working with these customers off the platform. We recommend saving contact information for any connections you have made.
How does it work?
Using Bing Pros service will provide you with visibility in front of millions of Bing end users looking for someone with your skills and expertise. If potential customers find you a good match for what they are looking for, they may send you a summary of their project in a chat message. Accept and respond to jobs you’re interested in, or simply decline. You won’t be charged until you accept, to message them back.
What services can I offer?
Bing Pros currently supports a limited number of services, but the list will continue to grow! The current services supported are:

Can I offer more than one category of service?
Yes. You can add additional services from your Services tab. You can add and remove services at any time.
How do I sign up?
Please go to www.bing.com/pros/onboarding, input your information and sign up/sign in with a Microsoft Account (MSA).
Do I have to sign up for an account to use Bing Pros?
In order to sign up with Bing Pros, you'll need to create or sign in with an MSA account. This comes with a ton of benefits to protect you and your business. You can learn more about it here: Microsoft Services Agreement.
Is there a fee to sign up?
There is no fee to create an account on Bing Pros.
Can I edit my listing?
Once you are signed in, you'll have the option under Manage to edit your listing. Most of your information will be pre-filled, though we recommend checking for accuracy prior to submitting your listing on Bing Pros.

How do I sign up for SMS?
To sign up for SMS notifications, go to your Settings tab, select Enable SMS Notifications, agree to the Privacy Notice, and enter in your mobile number.
How do I upload project samples and photos?
You can add project sample photos to your Gallery. Select the Edit hyperlink near Gallery and upload your photos. You can upload up to 10 images as a .jpg or .png (max 8MB).
How do I add a description to my service?
To add a description for a specific service that you offer, go to the Services tab, select the Edit hyperlink in the service you wish to update and add your description.
How do I add a base price?
For each service you offer you can add a base price. Under the Services tab, select the Edit hyperlink in the service you wish to set a base price for and add your base price per hour, per visit, or per project. Currently, you can only offer one type of base price per service you offer. In addition, you can add details around these base prices and more below the base price amount.
Why do I need a background check for in person services?
Pros that offer in person services need a background check for the business owner because they are responsible for their business and any employees of their business. A background check helps to verify the identity, criminal history, and trustworthiness of the business owner. It also helps to protect the customers from potential fraud, theft, or harm.
What are in person services?
In person services are any services that require the business owner or their employees to physically interact with the customers at their location.
Who needs a background check?
Only the business owner of the Bing Pros account needs a background check, not all employees.
How do I get a background check?
To get a background check, please log in to your Bing Pros account and click on “Get Started” on your Dashboard. The background checks are provided by Yardstik. The background check may take several days to process. Once approved, you can start listing in person services on your profile.
What is covered in the background check?
Address History and Social Security Number (SSN) Trace
Social Security Trace identifies names (including AKA’s and alias) and address history (7 years) using the provided social security number and name to check against public record databases. Addresses and names identified may broaden the scope of the criminal records searches if additional jurisdictions are identified. SSN trace does not match an individual with an SSN number but verifies the SSN was issued by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and that SSN is not on the Death Master file.
National Criminal Database Search
Multi-jurisdictional search of proprietary databases including all 50 states, tribal nations and US territories for state, county, and corrections records where a candidate may have been involved. Felony and misdemeanor convictions and pending cases require further validation at the state or county level per FCRA requirements. Selection of databases checked include Department of Corrections, County Courts, Administrative Offices of the Court, Department of Public Safety, County arrest and warrant data and registries. Names searched include any other last names, AKAs, or aliases for the last 7 years.
National Sex Offender Registry Search
Multi-jurisdictional search of 50 state sex offender registries, including District of Columbia, tribal territories, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Records identified are verified by individual county/state searches. Names searched include any other last names, AKAs, or aliases for 7 years.
County Criminal Check (current address)
County criminal search for the county of residence that is conducted first by an automated process in conjunction with databases where available. For those counties that do not have automated records, a professional researcher or county clerk will conduct the search. Whether automated or done at the county courthouse, researchers will report all felony and misdemeanor convictions and pending records that the court has available. The search includes jurisdiction of resident and any other counties identified in the national search if records were located per FCRA requirements.
Global Watch List Verification
Checks US and International databases in search of foreign nationals and high-level criminal data provided by US Government and partner countries to comply with the USA Patriot Act. Search includes the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), the list of the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN), and other terrorist and fraud lists maintained by the United States and other countries. This check is looking for individuals, groups, or companies with significant records on global official sanctions, embargo lists, traffickers, and terrorists’ lists. Names and AKAs identified will all be searched for the last 7 years.
What do I do if I find spams or offensive messages?
You can mark a message as spam to close the conversation and archive it, or report it via the “report” button if you find the message offensive or harmful, in which case, the conversation will close and the thread will ne removed.
How do I report an issue with my profile or report another profile that is offensive, harmful, or inappropriate?
Use the feedback feature located in the lower right-hand corner of the page to send feedback or click on report a concern if there is an issue. There is also the option to report a concern in the drop-down menu located in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Can I add an international number as my business number?
No. The service is only available in the United States at the moment, and international phone numbers are not supported.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your profile from your Account Settings.
- Login
- Go to your account settings
- Select Deactivate account
- Confirm
This will permanently delete the profile from Bing Pros.
What are free leads?
As a thank you for joining Bing Pros early, we have awarded service providers with free leads. This will allow service providers to become familiar and comfortable with how Bing Pros leads work, while the promotion lasts.
Do free leads have any monetary value?
No. Free leads can only be used for the purpose of accepting new leads on Bing Pros. They are not transferable, refundable, and cannot be redeemed for real money.
Do free leads expire?
Free leads may expire at any time and for any reason, without notice, at Microsoft’s sole discretion.
What if I have trouble with paying for a lead or billing questions?
Please reach out to our Support Team at bingpros-support@bing.com.
Do you offer refunds?
Currently, leads are not refundable. We understand that not every lead works out. This is why we have made the lead price with that in mind. If you feel that there’s an extenuating circumstance, you can contact our Support Team at bingpros-support@bing.com. However, free leads are not available for a refund.
How to see the leads?
The leads will be visible in the Inbox in your account. Each lead might include details such as the type of service requested and any other relevant information. Once you accept the lead, you can message the individual or if provided by the potential consumer, call their phone number.
What happens when a lead comes in?
You can accept the lead - pay for it and communicate with the potential client (please note, this does not guarantee they will hire you but gives you the potential to get hired).
You can decline the lead - not pay for it and not communicate with the potential customer.
Please note, if you do not accept or decline a lead, it will eventually expire. Therefore, you will not be able to communicate with the potential customer and this could lead to a poor experience for them.
