Can I change the email address that is connected to my Clipchamp account?

This article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts. For work or school accounts, your organization manages your sign-in and email address. Contact your IT admin to make changes.

Clipchamp for personal accounts uses a personal Microsoft account for sign-in. To use a different email address without switching accounts, add that address as an alias of the same Microsoft account.

An alias is another email address for your existing Microsoft account. Manage aliases in your Microsoft account settings. The star icons in older Clipchamp instructions selected an email address for Clipchamp account communications, not Microsoft account sign-in aliases.

Change the email address you use to sign in

  1. Open your Microsoft account alias settings and sign in with the personal Microsoft account you use for Clipchamp.
  2. Select Add email and follow the instructions to add and verify the new address.
  3. If you want the new address to be your Microsoft account's primary alias, select Make primary next to it.

You can use any alias that's enabled for sign-in. It doesn't have to be the primary alias.

You can't add an email address that's already an alias of another Microsoft account. For instructions and restrictions, see How to add an email address to your Microsoft account and Change the email address for your Microsoft account.

Important

Before you remove an existing alias, read Microsoft's guidance. Removing an alias with a Microsoft domain, such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com, permanently deletes that address. It can't be reclaimed.

Keep access to your existing Clipchamp account

Sign in with the personal Microsoft account that's already connected to your Clipchamp account. Signing in with a different Microsoft account doesn't move or merge your existing Clipchamp projects.

The connected Microsoft account's email address can differ from the one you originally used with Google or email sign-in.
