Changes to Clipchamp subscriptions

Applies To
Clipchamp for personal accounts

Clipchamp personal subscriptions are bought, billed, canceled, and refunded through the Microsoft account used for purchase.

Important

This article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts. For Clipchamp with a work or school account, see this FAQ.

Before you buy or manage Clipchamp Premium

  • Use a personal or family Microsoft account to upgrade, buy Premium, or manage billing.
  • If you sign in to Clipchamp with a non-Microsoft account, link your personal Microsoft account first.
  • If you have Microsoft 365 Personal or Family, sign in to Clipchamp with the Microsoft account on that plan to use included premium features such as 4K exports, personal brandkit, and some premium stock media.
  • Legacy Creator, Business, and Business Platinum plans ended in November 2022. Premium is the current standalone Clipchamp paid plan.

Manage your subscription

  1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services.
  2. Sign in with the Microsoft account connected to your Clipchamp subscription.
  3. Find Microsoft Clipchamp or Clipchamp Premium.
  4. Select Manage to view renewal, billing, cancellation, and refund options.

From Clipchamp, you can also go to the billing page and select Manage Subscription. This opens the same Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page, where billing changes are completed.

Important

If the subscription is not shown, try any other personal or family Microsoft account you use with Clipchamp or the Microsoft Store.

Cancel your Clipchamp subscription

  1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services.
  2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy Clipchamp.
  3. Select Manage next to Microsoft Clipchamp or Clipchamp Premium.
  4. Follow the prompts to cancel or turn off recurring billing.

By default, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep paid features until then and are not charged again.

For full steps, see How to cancel a Clipchamp paid subscription: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/clipchamp/how-to-cancel-a-clipchamp-paid-subscription

Note

If Clipchamp premium features come through Microsoft 365 Personal or Family, there is no separate Clipchamp charge unless you also bought Clipchamp Premium. Canceling Microsoft 365 also removes the Clipchamp premium features included with that plan.

Refunds — how they work and how to request one

Refund options are shown in your Microsoft account when available. Eligibility can depend on the subscription, purchase type, region, payment method, and Microsoft Store policies.

  1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.
  2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used for the purchase.
  3. Find the Clipchamp or Microsoft 365 charge.
  4. If a refund option appears, follow the prompts.
  5. If no refund option appears, use the Microsoft account support or contact options.

You can also check refund options while canceling from https://account.microsoft.com/services. Clipchamp does not determine refund eligibility; use Microsoft account order history or Microsoft support for the current options for your purchase.

Understand your charges

  • Why was I charged? You bought Clipchamp Premium, or the subscription renewed. Microsoft 365 Personal or Family includes many Clipchamp premium features at no extra Clipchamp cost unless you also bought standalone Clipchamp Premium.
  • Which account was charged? Check https://account.microsoft.com/services and https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders with each personal Microsoft account you may have used.
  • When is my renewal date? Open the Clipchamp subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
  • How do I stop future charges? Select Manage, then cancel or turn off recurring billing.
  • What happens after cancellation? After the billing period ends, existing projects remain available. Projects with premium stock assets cannot be exported until you remove premium content or regain premium access. Content backup also ends.
  • Where are receipts? Go to Services & subscriptions or Order history in the Microsoft account used for purchase.

Premium purchase and entitlement help

  • To upgrade, see How to purchase and manage a Clipchamp personal subscription?
  • If you bought Clipchamp Premium from Microsoft Store, sign in to Clipchamp with the same Microsoft account used for purchase. New users should register with that account.
  • Existing users should link that Microsoft account in Clipchamp profile settings, then refresh Clipchamp if Premium is not recognized.
  • For plan details, see What are the Clipchamp paid plans and how do they work?
  • For subscription, cancellation, refund, or billing help, contact Clipchamp support or use the support options in your Microsoft account.
