Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 or SQL Server 2014 Master Data Services (MDS). When you try to process staged data as batches, publish data from the MDS Add-in for Excel, or just make modifications on attribute values in the Explorer view of Master Data Manager Web UI, a collation mismatch error that resembles the following is generated:

Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and "Latin1_General_100_CS_AI" in the equal to operation

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
