Symptoms

Assume that you have applied the Cumulative Update 3 (CU3) for Microsoft SQL Server 2014. You try to host a Master Data Services (MDS) database on an instance of SQL Server that uses the "Enterprise Edition: Core-based Licensing" edition. When you browse to a MDS website, you receive the following error message:

The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
