When you try to apply a policy to a site collection from a different web application, you receive an exception but not a friendly error message. After you install this update, you will receive the following error message:
Note
You can't add a site collection to a DLP policy that's in a different web application. Instead, create a DLP policy from the Compliance Policy Center that's in the same web application as the sites you want to protect with DLP.
