Introduction

This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft System Center 2016 Service Manager. Additionally, it contains the installation instructions for this update rollup.

Issues that are fixed in this update rollup

  • System Center Configuration Manager 1702 is now supported in this Service Manager update for Configuration Manager Connectors.

  • You as an administrator create a new Exchange Connector through the System Center 2016 Service Manager console. When you click the Test Connection button in the Server Connection pane of the Create Exchange Connector wizard, you receive an exception.

  • Requests that are created through the Self-Service Portal always have the Source field of the work item set as Portal and the Status field set as New. These values are not overwritten when a template or Request Offering input mapping is applied.

  • In the Self-Service Portal, the Request Offering forms display validation errors in English, even when a non-English language is selected.

  • The Self-Service Portal does not display the full name of users (such as the reviewers list for Review Activity and implementer for Manual Activity) but instead only displays the domain\user-name information for the user.

  • The My Requests and the My Activities pages do not load in the Self-Service Portal if the object associated to a work item class has duplicate properties that have the same name because of class inheritance.

Installation instructions

Before you apply this update, if any customizations were made in the portal sidebar (such as in the CustomSidebar.cshtml file), follow these steps:

  1. Create a new .cshtml file named CustomSidebar.cshtml in the "\inetpub\wwwroot\SelfServicePortal\Views\Shared folder" path.

  2. Move the customizations from the sidebar.cshtml file to the new CustomSidebar.cshtml file.

Note In the future, all customizations in the Service Manager 2016 Self-Service Portal’s sidebar should be made in the CustomSidebar.cshtml file.

To install this update, follow these steps.

Note The SCSM2016_CU_KB3209594_amd64_7.5.7487.34.exe file is only meant to be installed on a computer that has the Self-Service Portal installed. The remaining SM Roles (Management Server, Data Ware House, Console) do not need this package installed.

  1. Download the SCSM2016_CU_KB3209594_amd64_7.5.7487.34.exe file to a destination folder on the server that hosts your Service Manager Self-Service Portal.

  2. Open the destination folder, and then right-click the SCSM2016_CU_KB3209594_amd64_7.5.7487.34.exe file.

  3. Click Run as administrator.

  4. Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms, and then follow the steps in the installation wizard.

  5. Restart the computer that is hosting your portal Server Running IIS.

If you use Exchange Connector 3.1 together with Service Manager 2016, follow these additional steps.

  1. Exit all Service Manager-related applications before you apply this update. For example, exit the Service Manager Console, the Self-Service Portal links, and the authoring tool.

  2. Download and extract the Microsoft.SystemCenter.ExchangeConnector.dll.exe file to a destination folder on your Service Manager’s Primary Management Server (Workflow Server).

  3. In the Run dialog box, type services.msc in the Open box, and then click Ok.

  4. In the Services window in the Services (Local) pane, stop the System Center Management service.

  5. Replace the new extracted Microsoft.SystemCenter.ExchangeConnector.dll file by using the existing one in your Service Manager installation path.
