Applies to: Project Standard 2016Project Professional 2016

This article describes update 4032238 for Microsoft Project 2016 that was released on August 7, 2018. This update has a prerequisite.

Be aware that the update on the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?)

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes the following issue:

Assume that you open a project from Project Server. You change a local custom field's lookup table, then you save, close and reopen the project. In this case, values from the lookup table that were previously entered for various tasks may be lost even though the values aren't deleted from the lookup table. Additionally, some parts of the lookup table definition may be missing.
