This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office. To learn more about these vulnerabilities, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures ADV180021.
Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 installed on the computer.
Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It doesn't apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see Determining your Office version).
Improvements and fixes
This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:
- After you use the Rooms button or the Room Finder add-in to change the conference room for a meeting, the Location of the meeting is not automatically updated to match the newly selected room.
Outlook 2013 does not delete the folders on the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) server even though you delete folders in the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) store. In addition, the deleted folders in the .OST file are downloaded again from the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) server. The issue occurs if update KB 4018376 is applied and the IMAPUIDRefactor registry key value is set to 1.
Assume that you sign in to Outlook 2013 by using an account that doesn’t use modern authentication in Windows 10. The Security Support Provider Interface (SSPI) authentication prompt will sometimes appear behind other windows and be inaccessible from the keyboard. For more information, see KB 4032226.
Add translations in all languages for update KB 4032240 that addresses an issue in which the authentication prompt sometimes appears behind other windows and may be inaccessible to the user. (This translation fix is related to the issue that is described in the previous bullet.)
- This update fixes a potential crash in third-party MAPI applications.
Dynamics CRM functionality is blocked unless you enable all roaming folder homepages by using the EnableRoamingFolderHomepages registry key that is documented in the following article:
