Symptoms

Assume that you remove temporary objects such as temporary tables, table variables, or table-valued parameters in Microsoft SQL Server 2014. In this scenario, significantly increased PAGELATCH_EX contentions occur on the sys.sysobjvalues system base table when compared to the earlier versions of SQL Server.

Note This symptom is similar to KB 4013999. But the cause is different.

Cause

This issue occurs because of the workload that causes heavy usage of the temporary table with the CREATE/DROP syntax.
