Symptoms

Assume that in an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2017, you enable large page allocations by using trace flag 834. In this situation, you may find that MEMORYCLERK_SOSMEMMANAGER clerk keeps growing larger and larger. Eventually, SQL Server may log the following error message in the SQL Server error log:

Failed allocate pages: FAIL_PAGE_ALLOCATION 1025

Note This issue does not occur if you disable trace flag 834.

Resolution

This fix is included in the following update for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2017
