Symptoms

Assume that you have Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) installed on an instance of SQL Server 2016. If you use the ODBC .NET Provider to connect to and query an Oracle database, SSAS 2016 may incorrectly generate a filtered SQL query. Additionally, you may receive error messages that resemble the following:

ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number.

Resolution

This fix is included in Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 2.
