November 5, 2019, update for Outlook 2016 (KB4484139)

Improvements and fixes

This update adds a PreferProvidedEmailInAutoDiscoverAuthPrompts registry key that enables Exchange administrators to specify whether users will be authenticated by using the configured account email or the user principal name (UPN) during AutoDiscover scenarios.

Value Type: DWORD

Value name: PreferProvidedEmailInAutoDiscoverAuthPrompts

Value data:

• 0: It's the default value. Outlook will use the UPN when it's available.

• 1: If the value is set to 1, Outlook will ignore the UPN and just use the provided account email.

It also fixes the following issues:

• Outlook doesn't show original URL on hover on an email message with more than 50 URLs.​

• Fixes a memory leak when you use Outlook 2016.

• When you save an email message to the Drafts folder after you change the sender in online mode, the sender name is changed to the LegacyExchangeDN value.

• When you copy an attached email message from the preview pane, and then paste it in an inline reply, Outlook 2016 crashes.

1. Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

2. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4484139, and then select Uninstall.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

2. Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.

3. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4484139, and then select Uninstall.

Windows 7

1. Go to Start, enter Run, and then select Run.

2. Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then select OK.

3. Select View installed updates.

4. In the list of updates, locate and select KB4484139, and then select Uninstall.
