Description of the security update for Office 2013: December 10, 2019

Summary


This security update resolves an information disclosure vulnerability that exists in Microsoft Access software if the software does not correctly handle objects in memory. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2019-1400 and Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2019-1463.

Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2013 installed on the computer.

Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It doesn't apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).

Improvements and fixes


This security update contains a fix for the following nonsecurity issue:
  • After you install update 4484119, you may receive the following error message when you try to run an Update query in Microsoft Access:

    Query "query name" is corrupt.
