Symptoms

When you back up your databases to Azure Page Blobs by using BackuptoURL statements, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

Date and time: DateTimeCommand: BACKUP LOG [SAMPLEDB] TO URL = N'UrlPath' WITH CHECKSUM, NO_COMPRESSION, CREDENTIAL = N'CredentialName'Msg 3271, Level 16, State 1, Server ServerName, Line LineNumberA nonrecoverable I/O error occurred on file FilePath Backup to URL received an exception from the remote endpoint. Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (409) Conflict..Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Server ServerName, Line LineNumberBACKUP LOG is terminating abnormally.Outcome: FailedDuration: DurationTime

Note The issue affects Microsoft SQL Server2014, 2016 and 2017 versions. When the fix becomes available for these versions ,this KB will be updated with the relevant information.
