Introduction
This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 10 for Microsoft System Center 2016 Service Manager. This article also contains the installation instructions for this update.
Improvements and issues that are fixed
- Users will be able to scroll seamlessly on all standard forms under work items tab.
- When a user opens manual activity from any Incident Request or Change Request form, and then runs a custom task, the task now runs without any errors.
- Surface devices imported by SCCM connector will not be marked as virtual machines.
- Enhancements to start-up time of the SDK service have been implemented which prevents any slowness.
- Users will now be able to read and update the manual activity from Self Service Portal.
- Update Rollup 10 supports newer releases of SCCM. For the latest information about the supported releases, see the "Supported coexistence" section of System requirements for System Center Service Manager.
- The logging on Self Service Portal logs will now show Process ID, Thread ID and Date/Time.
- When a user deletes a service offering category, it will verify if there is any offering with that category. If available, it will prevent the deletion and a window pops up to delete Service offerings.
- Users will be able to hide the count of ‘In progress’ activities> This is shown on the “My Activities” tab in the Self-Service Portal by adding a setting that's named “CalculateNotificationsCount” in the Web.config file, and setting its value to false.
- Enables support for MSOLEDBSQL driver so that users can move from SQL Native Client. Manual steps are required to use the MSOLEDBSQL driver together with SQL Server Analysis Server (SSAS). These are provided in Update Rollup 9 for System Center 2016 Service Manager.

Known issues in this update
Microsoft is receiving reports that workflows are getting delayed because of intermittent crashes in the MonitoringHost.exe process. Event ID: 1026 is also logged in Event Viewer together with this exception information: "UnauthorizedAccessException."

Run this SQL script after you apply the UR.
Installation Instructions for Service Manager
Before the installation
Before you apply this update, follow these steps:
Exit all Service Manager-related applications before you apply this update. For example, exit the Service Manager Console, the Self-Service Portal links, and the authoring tool.
Make sure that the Data Warehouse Server has successfully synchronized with the Management Server at least one time.
Make sure that the update is installed on the Service Manager components in the following order:
- Data Warehouse Server
- Primary Management Server
- Secondary Management Servers
- Self Service Portal Server
- All Analyst Consoles
If you have customizations in the portal sidebar, edit the sidebar by using the steps in the "Customizing the left menu bar" section of Deploy the new Self-Service Portal.
Make a backup of the Views\Shared\Sidebar.cshtml file.
Installation
- Download the update to a target folder. This update contains both the x86-based version and the x64-based version. Download the appropriate version for your system.
- Open the target folder, and then right-click the downloaded file from step 1.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms, and then follow the steps in the installation wizard.
After the installation
- Restart all the consoles as soon as the update is installed.
- If any customizations were backed up for the portal sidebar (as mentioned in "Before the installation" steps), merge the required changes in the updated Views\Shared\Sidebar.cshtml file.
- Restart the system that is hosting the portal server that is running IIS.
