Compose messages
For more information about email signatures, see Create and add a signature to messages. Outlook panes
When you select a message in the message list, you can see the message in the Reading Pane and access many different types of file attachments. You can customize how the Reading Pane works and appears, or you can turn it off. For more information, see Use and configure the Reading Pane to preview messages.
Message arrival
These settings define how Outlook notifies you when you receive a new message. For more information, see Change the sound played when an email message arrives. To learn about alert pop-ups, see Turn new message alert pop-up on or off.
Conversation cleanup
The Conversation Clean Up feature in Outlook can reduce the number of messages in your mail folders. For more information, see Use Conversation Clean Up to delete redundant messages.
Replies and forwards
These settings allow you to define message replies and forwards. For more information, see Change how the original message appears in replies and forwards. For more information about inline comments, see Reply with inline comments within the original message text.
Save messages
This section displays settings related to saving drafts of messages you are composing. For more information, see Save or delete drafts of unsent messages.
Send messages
These settings allow you to define Importance and Sensitivity levels. For more information, see Mark your email as Normal, Personal, Private, or Confidential. You can also choose to use the Auto-Complete list.
MailTips
Outlook includes MailTips, which help you avoid common, but potentially costly or embarrassing, mistakes. MailTips alerts can be triggered by actions including clicking Reply All to a large recipient list, sending sensitive information to someone outside your organization, or sending a message to someone who is out of office. Tracking
Use these settings to control what happens when you receive a message where the sender has requested to be notified when you've read it. For more information, see Add and request read receipts and delivery notifications. Message format
This section includes settings about Cascading Style Sheets, encoding attachments, and automatically wrapping text.
Other
This section includes settings about showing the Paste Options button, showing Next and Previous links in message headers, and marking messages as read when deleted.
