  1. Follow this link and click [Download].

If the file size is not found to be 315 MB after downloading it, follow the next link to download and install the file.

If this does not work and the file size is still not 315 MB, download the Windows XP Service Pack 3 setup file from another computer and move it to your computer by using a removable storage device such as USB to install.

method 2: If you have not installed the latest version of Windows Update Agent,
In this method, you may solve the problem by installing Windows Update Agent.
  1. Follow this link and click [Save].

You should not change the name of the file.

  4. Click [Begin] and [Run] in order.

  5. From the Run screen, type C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce and click [Next].

    When typing C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce , put a blank before /wuforce.

  6. When Open File - Security Warning screen appears, click [run] to complete the installation.

  7. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer and run Windows Update to see if the problem persists.
