Symptoms

Assume that you have applied hotfix 2882453 that is available from the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

KB 2882453: FIX: Support for HIX EDI transactions 005010x306 (820) and 005010x220 (834) for BizTalk Server 2013, BizTalk Server 2010, and BizTalk Server 2009
The hotfix adds the support for HIX EDI transactions 820 and 834 to Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009, Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010, and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013. 

When you try to process an HIX EDI 820 message in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013 R2, you receive the following error message:

An output message of the component "EDI disassembler" in receive pipeline "BCBSNE.IT.EDI.FFM.Pipelines.ReceiveEDI, BCBSNE.IT.EDI.FFM.Pipelines, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=2a5a4c898a1a1b7e" is suspended due to the following error:
Error encountered during parsing. The X12 transaction set with id '<id>' contained in functional group with id '<id>', in interchange with id 'id>', with sender id '<senderid> ', receiver id '<receiverid>' is being suspended with following errors:
Error: 1 (Segment level error)
SegmentID: REF
Position in TS: 64
7: Segment Not In Proper Sequence
Error: 2 (Segment level error)
SegmentID: REF
Position in TS: 64
2: Unexpected segment
The sequence number of the suspended message is 1.
