Intermittent service terminations occur after you install any SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 versions from KB3135244

Symptoms
Intermittent service terminations may occur after you install any of the TLS 1.2 support updates for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 that are described in 3135244.
More information
On January 29, 2016, Microsoft released the TLS 1.2 update for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2. We have identified a defect in the update that causes intermittent service termination when you try to connect to an instance of SQL Server.

When this problem occurs, an error message that resembles either of the following messages is logged in the SQL Server Error log:

We have published updated versions of SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 that address the defect that was identified in the TLS 1.2 update. We recommend that you use this new version to update all SQL Server instances to which the TLS 1.2 update was applied.
