This update also fixes the issues that are described in the following previously released Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

Improvements that the update provides

This update provides the following improvements:

  • Enables non-touch support. Admin can configure the Skype Room System to work with non-touch front-of-the-room displays. The table-top console continues to support touch.

  • Skype Room System lets you enable an additional tab that offers OEM customization, such as PTZ cameras controls. Contact your provider for more information about their product plans and release notes.

Things to be aware of when you enable the non-touch user interface (UI):

To install an update on a device that does not have Internet access, follow these steps.

Note Before you install the update, you must have an HTTP server that the device has access to. For more information, go to the "How to set up an HTTP server in Windows Server 2012 R2" section.

  1. Download the public update manifest to your Virtual Directory's physical folder from one of the following OEM links that applies to your device. The OEM may require the physical folder to be a specific folder in a folder structure.

  2. To extract the update manifest to the folder, follow these steps:

    1. At a command prompt, locate the physical folder by using the cd command.

    2. To extract LyncRoomUpdates.xml to the physical folder, run one of the following commands for the applicable OEM:CrestronLyncRoomUpdates.exe LyncRoomUpdates.xml
SmartLyncRoomUpdates.exe LyncRoomUpdates.xml Run the LyncRoomUpdates.xml command to view the contents of the update manifest.

  3. Download all files in the update manifest to the physical folder.

    Notes

    • If the XML entry contains a link, go to the link to download the file. The file must be named the same as the FileName attribute.

    • If the XML entry has the IsFwLink attribute set to True, add the file name to the end of the web address to download the file.

  4. Connect the device to a network by using an account that has access to your internal HTTP server.

  5. Log on to the device in Administrator mode by using administrator credentials.

  6. Click the Web Updates tab.

  7. Under OEM updates, click Download from internal server.

Note Microsoft Updates are currently pushed through the OEM Update field. The Download from WSUS server link under Microsoft Updates is not an active control. Therefore, you cannot download Microsoft updates by using that control.

  8. Under Update frequency, select the Automatic updates check box to update automatically during daily maintenance.

Note If you change any settings, and you want to apply updates manually, follow these steps:

  1. Click Apply & Restart.

  2. Restart the device, and then log on to the device in Administrator mode by using administrator credentials.

To set up an HTTP server to download the update files for a device installation that does not have Internet access in Windows Server 2012 R2, follow these steps:

  1. Add the Web Server (IIS) role in Windows Server 2012 R2.

  2. Click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager in Server Manager\Tools.

  3. In IIS Manager, open the tree for your HTTP server, and then expand the Sites node.

  4. Right-click the Sites node, and then click Add Virtual Directory.

  5. Create a name for access by using the IP address\Name format. Select the physical path of the folder on a disk to which you will download the Skype for Business public update manifest and associated files.

Note The OEM may require the physical folder to be a specific folder in a folder structure. Therefore, you must select the extracted OEM root directory as your physical path, and then follow the OEM instructions for the file path. Specify the file path in the following location:

Admin Console > Web Updates > Download from internal server text box

  6. After you download the files, make sure that the server will serve all files appropriately by visiting each address, such as IP address\Name\File.extension.

Note If a file is not served, add a MIME type for the file in IIS Manager.
