Upload files to Loop workspaces

The Upload a file feature in Loop workspaces helps you bring everything in one place. Upload Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF files up to 250 GB.

  1. Go to the Loop app at loop.cloud.microsoft.
  2. Navigate to your workspace.
  3. Select Create new > Upload a file to open your system file picker.
  4. Choose the Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or PDF file(s) you want to upload to your Workspace and select Open.

Once finished, your file will appear in the navigation list alongside other pages and links in your workspace.

What kind of files can I upload?

You can upload Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF files. Individual files may not exceed 250 GB.

Where are my uploaded files saved?

When you upload a file, it is stored in your OneDrive for Business under My files > Loop > Workspace Uploads.

Who can see and edit my uploaded files?

Anyone with access to the Loop workspace can view and edit your uploaded files.

How can I control who has access to see and edit my uploaded files?

If you wish to restrict who has access to view or edit your uploaded files, you can adjust permissions by opening the file and navigating to Share > Manage access.

How can I rename my uploaded files?

To rename the uploaded file representation in Loop

  1. Hover over the uploaded file in your Workspace.

  2. Click on the ⁠"..."⁠ next to the file title.

  3. Select Rename link.

  4. Enter the new file name and select Update.

    Note

    Renaming in Loop does not rename the source file name in OneDrive for Business.

To rename the source file in OneDrive for Business

  1. Find the file in OneDrive for Business under My files > Loop > Workspace Uploads.
  2. Hover over the uploaded file you wish to rename.
  3. Click on the ⁠"..."⁠ next to the file title.
  4. Select Rename.
  5. Enter the new file name and select Update.
How can I delete my uploaded files?
  1. Hover over the uploaded file in your Workspace.

  2. Click on the ⁠"..."⁠ next to the file title.

  3. Select Remove link.

    Note

    Removing an uploaded file in Loop does not delete the source file name in OneDrive for Business.

To delete the source file in OneDrive for Business

  1. Find the file in OneDrive for Business under My files > Loop > Workspace Uploads.
  2. Hover over the uploaded file you wish to delete.
  3. Click on the ⁠"..."⁠ next to the file title.
  4. Select Delete.
Why do my file names have numbers at the end?

All uploaded files are stored in the Loop > Workspace Files folder in OneDrive for Business. If a file with the same name exists in the folder, the new file will be renamed with a number.

What happens to uploaded files if I delete my workspace?

Uploaded files will remain in your OneDrive for Business.
