Select the text to center vertically in the document.

On the Layout tab, select
 ​​​​​​​Page Setup in the Page Setup group. -
In the Vertical alignment box on the Layout tab, choose Center.

Under Apply to, choose Selected text and select OK.
Tip: To turn the words vertically, see Rotate text.

On the Format menu at the top, choose Document and select the Layout tab.

Aligning text vertically isn't currently possible in Word for the web. You can, however, align text vertically in the Word desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop.
