If you cannot sign in to your OneDrive sync app, or the sync app says OneDrive is not connected, follow these steps to get signed in again.
Fix problems signing in to OneDrive
If you see a gray OneDrive icon with a line through it, this means you are not signed in.
Select the OneDrive icon that is grayed out or has a line through it.
At the "Set up OneDrive" screen, enter your email address and password.
Note
- If you've forgotten your username or password or can't sign in to your Microsoft personal account, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper.
- You can only add one Microsoft personal account.
- If you can't sign in to your OneDrive work or school account, try to reset your password, or alternatively please contact your organization's IT admin.
If you can sign in but still cannot connect to OneDrive, check that your internet provider's firewall is not blocking OneDrive. You may be able to do this by using your mobile device as a hotspot. Alternatively, contact your internet service provider and check they support access to Microsoft 365 products and services.
Fix OneDrive connection issues during sign‑in
If you see an error message that OneDrive is not connected, you may need to restart OneDrive.
- Select Windows Start
or macOS Finder and search for OneDrive.
Tip
If the OneDrive app is not installed or you cannot find it, download the latest version.
Can't sign in to onedrive.cloud.microsoft
If you see the error message "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services'" or "cannot access the application '00000003-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000'", it's because you are trying to sign in to a work or school OneDrive site with a Microsoft personal account - use your work/school Entra ID instead.
If you are using your work/school Entra ID and still can't sign in, contact your organization's IT helpdesk, service desk, or admin.
