Chat with members from your distribution lists, M365 groups, or mail-security groups in Teams
This feature allows you to start a chat using your existing distribution list, M365 group, or a mail-enabled security group with a maximum limit of 250 members to a group chat.
To do so:

Go to the chat list, and select New Chat
. -
Type an existing group name into the To: field.

Select from a distribution list, M365 group, or mail-security group to add new chat members to the existing group chat in Microsoft Teams.
Notes:

Admin controls to disable this feature are coming soon.

Dynamic distribution groups are not supported.

Adding a distribution group and expanding it in an existing chat is not currently supported.
