In the OneNote app for Windows. After you insert a picture into your notes, you might realize that it shows more than you want or need. Rather than trimming the picture, which you can't do in OneNote, you can take a screen clipping of the image to capture just the part that you want to keep.

  1. Insert the Image: Add the image to your OneNote page by going to Insert > Picture.

  2. Press the Windows logo key+Shift+S to start a screen clipping.

  3. When the screen dims, drag a selection over just the part of the image that you want to keep.

Your screen clipping is sent immediately to your clipboard so that you can paste it into any application, including OneNote.

  4. On any page in your notes, click where you want the screen clipping to appear, and then press Ctrl+V to paste it.

  5. If the result looks good to you, you can delete the original picture from your notes.

This method allows you to effectively crop images within the OneNote app.
