Execute tasks with Planner agent

Planner agent is a valuable teammate that can help you get work done by executing tasks that it is assigned to.

Assign tasks to Planner agent
The first step in executing tasks with the Planner agent is to assign the agent to the relevant tasks, which can be done in any view.
Board view

Select Group by : AI agent tasks in the top right corner of the Board view.

Select the Assign this task icon on any task and choose Planner agent or drag the task card into the Assign to Planner agent bucket.

The Planner agent will begin working on the selected tasks
Track Planner agent's progress on tasks
After assigning tasks to the Planner agent, it's simple to track its latest progress. There are 4 states that the Planner agent can be in while assigned to a task:

Queued – the Planner agent is assigned to the task but not yet begun work as it's currently executing on another task.

In progress – the Planner agent is actively working on this task.

Needs input – the Planner agent doesn't have enough information to complete the task and needs some additional information.

Done – the Planner agent has completed the task and needs you to review the output. All agent output will be in a Loop component within task details.
Note:Â To allow users to maintain control over their plan, the Planner agent will never mark a task as complete, even after it's finished with execution. Users will need to review the Planner agent's output and mark the task as complete manually.
These states are used across both all views to allow you to track progress easily.
Board view
In the Group by AI agent tasks view, there are two main ways to understand the agent's current state on a task.

Planner agent labels – these labels are equivalent to the four states mentioned above and the agent will update them as it progresses on tasks.

Group by AI agent tasks buckets – after selecting Group by AI agent tasks, you'll see four unique Planner agent buckets. As the agent progresses on tasks, it will move them through these buckets as follows:

All pending tasks – Tasks not assigned to the Planner agent.

Assigned to Planner agent – Tasks that are assigned to the Planner agent but have not yet begun execution.

Couldn't complete – Tasks for which the Planner agent needs additional information to complete.

Ready for Review – Tasks that the Planner agent has completed execution on.
Provide input
When the agent feels it doesn't have enough information to complete the tasks, you'll need to provide the necessary information for the agent to continue execution. To do this:

Select the task details for the appropriate task. The project manager will have left a set of questions that it needs answers to in the Loop component within task details.

Type your answer to the questions directly in the Loop component

After answering all questions, select Regenerate.

The task will move back into the Assigned to Planner agent bucket and into either Queued or In progress state.

The project manager will take your responses into account when executing on the task again.
Give Planner agent feedback
After the agent has completed a task, you can provide feedback on the output, so it matches your expectations. For example, you may ask the agent to shorten its output, make the tone more professional, or add additional details.

Click into the task details for the task you would like to provide feedback on.

Leave feedback for the agent directly in the Loop component within task details. You can do this by:

Leaving a comment

Typing directly into the Loop component

Select Regenerate.

The task will move back into the Assigned to Planner agent bucket and into either queued or in progress state.

The project manager will take your feedback into account and generate an updated output. ​​​​​​​
