Format a message in Teams

There are several formatting options for messages.

To open your formatting options, select Format  Expand button beneath the compose box. In this expanded view, select the text you want to format, then choose an option such as B, I, or U to bold, italicize, or underline the text.

There are also options for highlighting, font size, lists, and more. See More options  More options button for additional formatting options and the buttons below the box for attaching a file or inserting fun stuff like emoji.

Note: Teams underlines spelling errors in red as you type. Right-click the error to see a list of suggested corrections. Currently, you can't run a separate spelling and grammar check in Teams (unless you're working in your Wiki tab).

Tap Format Expand button in your compose box to open the text editor. The editor lets you underline, italicize, or bold text. You can start new paragraphs (without accidentally hitting send), highlight text, change the color of text, or mark the message as important.
