How do I delete or hide entire chats in GroupMe?

You can hide GroupMe chats, but it's only hidden on your own device. You can't delete chats in GroupMe. The option to hide GroupMe chats is not available on Web.

To hide a chat:

  1. In the chat you want to hide, select the group or contact's avatar (profile picture).

  2. Select Settings  Settings button.

  3. Select Hide Chat. The chat will be hidden on your device.

To unhide a chat:

  1. Select the Open Navigation Open Navigation button menu.

  2. Select Archive  Archive button. Your hidden chats are displayed.

  3. Select the chat, then the group or contact's avatar (profile picture).

  4. Select Settings Settings button, then Unhide Chat.

To hide a chat:

  1. Tap and hold the chat you want to hide.

  2. At the top of the screen, tap Hide chat  Hide button.

  3. The chat will be hidden on your device.

To unhide a chat:

  1. Tap the More  More button in GroupMe  menu.

  2. Tap Archive  Archive button in GroupMe. Your hidden chats are displayed.

  3. Select the chat you want to unhide.

  4. Tap the group's avatar (profile picture).

  5. Select Settings Settings button in GroupMe, then Unhide Chat.

To hide a chat:

  1. From your Chat list, swipe left on the chat you want to hide.

    Note: On iPad, if you don't have your list of chats on the side, tap Chat at the top of the screen.

  2. Tap Hide  Hide button.

  3. The chat will be hidden on your device.

To unhide a chat:

  1. Tap the More  More button in GroupMe  menu.

  2. Tap Archive  Archive button in GroupMe.

  3. From the Hidden Chats tab, tap Unhide next to the chat, then Yes to confirm.
