ISSUE

When using Outlook Desktop in M365 with OWA disabled, creating a meeting opens a browser window to an OPX URL path:

https://outlook.office.com/opx/email@contoso.com/roompanel/?hostApp=outlookdesktop&culture=en-US

Starting Outlook or creating a new email may open a browser window to an OPX URL path such as:

https://outlook.office.com/opx//activityfeed/?hostApp=outlookdesktop&culture=en-US

Outlook Desktop is leveraging OWA Powered Experiences (OPX) which are not available because OWA has been disabled.  This issue may occur for instances where OPX controls are being used including the new Room Finder and the new Notifications Pane.

STATUS: INVESTIGATING

The Outlook Team is working on a fix for this issue which is tentatively planned for inclusion in service build 15.20.6201.000.  The fix is estimated to reach production in mid April, 2023.  When we get more exact specifics about the fix status we will update this topic.

To check the service build in anticipation of the fix use the Connection Status Dialog to confirm the service version. Learn more about the Description of the Connection Status dialog in Outlook.
