Premium Outlook.com features for Microsoft 365 subscribers

Enjoy advanced protection against phishing and malware, no ads, and other premium features for your Outlook.com account – all part of your Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.

Note: At this moment, premium features for Outlook.com are turned off by default during the Microsoft 365 trial period. These features will be turned on once the trial period changes to a paid Microsoft 365 subscription. You can also contact Support (Search for "premium trial", select Still need help > Yes) to get them turned on during the trial period.

  • Email encryption. Outlook.com includes encryption and prevent forwarding features that ensure your confidential and personal information you share via email stays encrypted and doesn’t leave Microsoft 365. This is useful when you don’t trust the recipient’s email provider to be secure. Learn more about encrypted messages here.

  • Ad-free interface. Microsoft 365 subscribers enjoy an ad-free Outlook.com mailbox. Without ads, you have less distractions and enjoy faster page load times.

  • Larger mailbox storage. Microsoft 365 subscribers get 50 GB of email storage as a subscription benefit. You'll have 50 GB of email storage at your disposal.

  • Premium support. Microsoft 365 subscriptions include premium customer support, so if you need to contact Microsoft for help, you'll get our highest level of service.

These benefits activate automatically for all Microsoft 365 subscribers who have an Outlook.com mailbox associated with their subscription. Outlook.com mailboxes have email addresses ending in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com.

The Outlook.com Premium standalone offering is now closed to new subscribers. Current subscribers can renew their subscriptions to continue receiving subscription benefits. To learn more, see Outlook.com Premium closed to new subscribers.

No, these benefits only apply if your subscription is associated with an Outlook.com account. Outlook.com accounts have email addresses ending in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, and @msn.com.

With a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you can share the benefits with up to 5 other people. If the people you share your benefits with have Outlook.com mailboxes, they’ll get the benefits automatically. Learn about sharing Microsoft 365 Home subscription benefits.

The ad-free subscription benefit means you won’t see banner ads or ads in your message list when you use Outlook.com.  You’ll continue to receive all messages sent to your account, some of which may be advertisements you signed up to receive, or junk mail.

You'll continue to have access to your Outlook.com account, but the premium benefits will be deactivated.

No. Outlook.com is a consumer service, so these benefits apply only to Microsoft 365 consumer subscriptions – specifically Microsoft 365 Family and Microsoft 365 Personal.
